E-mail Fax Quick Start Guide 
Sending fax from your Outlook or Outlook Web Access (Webmail) is as simple as sending any normal e-mail. Faxing with Customized Cover Sheets guide can be found at the Cover Sheets section. These allow you to explore the advanced features of the e-mail fax.

E-mail fax also supports the following document types that can be fax over simply by attaching them in your e-mail:

      

The fax server will automatically append these attachments after the Cover Sheet. Please note this service is only available to staff of the University.

To send a fax you'll need:

  1. your Network Account.

  2. Microsoft Outlook Client or Outlook Web Access (Webmail).


Faxing in Microsoft Outlook Client
To start faxing using MS Outlook client:

  1. First open your mailbox using Outlook

  2. Open a new message 

  3. In the To field enter the fax number of your recipient in the format: FAXNUMBER@fax.ntu.edu.sg

    You may also Cc this message to other email recipients. If you have already saved fax numbers in your Outlook Contact you may also make use of them just like an e-mail address.

  4. Fill in the Subject and enter your message in the Message Body. Word documents and other supported files may also be included as attachments

  5. Click on the button to start faxing

  6. You will be automatically notified of the Success or Failure of your fax. This confirmation will be sent to your mailbox. The Fax Server will attempt faxing up to three tries with an interval of 5 minutes between each attempts. If all three tries fail, you will receive a notification via email.


Faxing in Outlook Web Access (Webmail)
To start faxing using Webmail from a browser:

  1. Launch your web browser and go to https://webmail.ntu.edu.sg/exchange and logon to your e-mail.

  2. Open a new message 

  3. In the To field enter the fax number of your recipient in the format: FAXNUMBER@fax.ntu.edu.sg

    You may also Cc this message to other email recipients. If you have already saved fax numbers in your Outlook Contact you may also make use of them just like an e-mail address.

  4. Fill in the Subject and enter your message in the Message Body. Word documents and other supported files may also be included as attachments.

  5. Click on the  button to start faxing
