These are the mastheads used in iTzone (formerly known as Computing News) from 1985 to the present. The name of the publication was changed to iTzone in 2000. The trip down memory lane may be quite a nostalgic one for some :-)

First issue in August 1985

Issue No. 7 marks the resurface of the newsletter in print form after an unsuccessful online only trial run in Videotex.

After the disappearance of the computer logo on the left in issue 11, the old computer logo was used again in issue 12. However, the font used for the words "Computing News" was changed. The logo here was also less clear compared to the earlier issues with blue mastheads. This was probably due to the downsize of the publication from A4 to B5.

This is a one off logo. It was never used again.

For a year, the covers were printed on green coloured paper. The computer logo was also updated from the ancient "dumb terminal" look.

This "brush-stroked" letterings graced the covers of the newsletter from January 1993 to July 1999. Gone forever was the quickly-dated computer logo. This was also the first time the publication was being printed commercially.

The publication was renamed iTzone to mark the beginning of the new millennium. It is hoped that the publication could be the technological zone or channel were useful information about IT could be disseminated. Contents had been revised and new columns lined up to boost reading pleasure. There was also a slight change in the editorial team make up. We also had a new editor. (The previous editor stayed on as the chief editor). It was the first time when the editor of the newsletter was someone other than the Deputy Director of the centre!

2001 marks the year when iTzone will go solely online. There will no longer be any printed copies for distribution. All graphics will also be seen in their original full colour glory.
What do you think of its past? It has quite a history hasn't it?
