IT Connect is an electronic newsletter jointly published by the Centre for IT Services and NIE Computer Services Centre. Through this newsletter, we hope to promote effective use of the University's IT facilities and resources, as well as to update our campus community with the latest information on infocomm and learning technology, IT security issues, campus promotions and new e-services available. (1) Computing News
In the initial years, this newsletter was named Computing News and was printed quarterly by the then Computer Centre (CC) since August 1985.    

  • Print copies of Computing News up to Issue No. 52 (year 2001, Jan-Mar) can be obtained from the Acquisitions Dept., Lee Wee Nam Library during office hours.


(2) IT Zone
Computing News was renamed as IT Zone in January 2000, following a change in name of the publishing office from Computer Centre (CC) to Centre for IT Services (CITS) in 1999.

  • Archived issues of Computing News and IT Zone in PDF format (requires Adobe Reader) from year 1992 to 2003 (Apr-Jun) are available at this site.

IT Zone was published entirely online since year 2001 (Apr-Jun) Issue 53, and became a monthly publication since October 2003.

(3) IT Connect
In January 2010, IT Zone was replaced by IT Connect and became a joint publication of the Centre for IT Services (CITS), Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT), and NIE Computer Services Centre (NIE CSC).
