Aims 'n Stuff
Why it came about?
The newsletter was set up up with dual objectives:
To promote effective use of the NTU computing facilities, eResources and eLearning tools
To disseminate general information on information technology
Target Audience
The publication is meant to be read by all (academic, admin and non-admin) staff and students. As such, ease of comprehension is paramount, and so the articles should not be too technical.
Editorial Make Up
Traditionally, the chief editor is the Divisional Director (IT Operations) of the Centre for IT Services (CITS). A number of staff members from the CITS, NIE CSC and CELT (starting from Jan 2010) are nominated to form the core pool of writers and editorial members. From time to time, contributions from other staff and students are also featured in the publication.
In September 2009, the Divisional Director (Applications) took over as the cheif editor, as the then editor's portfolio was transfered from the IT Operations group to the Applications group in CITS.
