Video Editing Station

CED Media Studio is a self-help centre serves to provide staff and students who would like to develop multimedia materials on their own but do not have software and hardware facilities to do so. The Studio is located next to the General Office of CED. It is equipped with
  • 2 units of non-linear audio-video editing workstations and
  • 1 unit of graphics design workstations.

They are also connected to digital and analog audio-video peripherals for you to digitize or capture instructional content. The peripherals include:

  • digital videocassette (DV) player (for capturing video taken with mini-DV video camera into digital video files)
  • analog videocassette (VHS) player (for capturing video in VHS tape into digital video files)
  • DVD player (for capturing DVD video into digital video files)
  • VCD-DVD recorder/player (for recording VCD to DVD)

The Media Studio is open to all NTU staff and students during office hours.  If you need to use the studio facilities, please make your booking at http://intune.ntu.edu.sg/studio/registration.cfm and we will get in touch with you shortly.

Video Editing Workstation 3 and 4

MS Windows Vista-based Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz PC with DVD-Writer.

Peripherals attached:

  • DVCAM Recorder
  • VCR/DVD Combo Set
  • DVD Recorder
  • 14" Colour TV
  • Capture, edit and encode video from DV tape/ VCD/DVD to VCD or DVD format
  • Capture and edit video from VHS to VCD

Media Studio Workstation 2  

MS Windows XP-based Pentium IV 2.4GHz Pc with CD-Writer,
DVD-ROM and Firewire card.

Peripherals attached:

  • Detactable USB Photo Scanner
  • Capture and edit streaming video from DV Camera with MovieMaker
  • Web authoring with Dreamweaver or Frontpage
  • Digital imaging and animation authoring with Fireworks, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D Studio Max
  • Create voice instructions with TextAloud text-to-speech software
  • Enhance PowerPoint presentation with video (using acuStudio-Live) or audio and online quiz (using Breeze)
  • Capture computer screen illustration into video with Camtasia Studio
