2. Windows Login - Network Domain
If you are a new staff, we would like to inform you that you can use the PC by using your network username and password to login.
To do so, enter your network username/password, select the "STAFF" domain and click OK to logon.
Note: there will be a small delay you use any particular LT PC for the first time. This is due to your profile being created the first time. A good workaround will be to do a pre-session log-in process during a free slot before your lecture/presentation.
3. Windows Login - Local PC
If you are unable to log-in using your network account as described above, you can use the following credentials to logon to the PC locally.
4. Logging Off from PC session
At the end of your lecture presentation, remember to log out.
This can be done by clicking on the icon shown below on the PC desktop. There is no need to shut down the system unless you are conducting the last teaching session of that day.
Important: It is very important for you to log off your PC session after your lecture. This is because any unauthorized person will be able to continue the use of that session; (s)he will have access to your networked resources (e.g., emails, network files, StaffLink applications, etc.).
For your information, each LT PC has been configured to log off automatically after 50 minutes of non-activity. Please take note that this auto log-off feature should not be regarded as a safe-guard as anything can still happen within this time window. Unauthorized user(s) can continue this session for hours thereafter without your knowledge. As such, we strongly advise you to remember to log off at the end of your lecture/presentation.
5. Shutting Down the PC
If you need to shut down the PC, please click on this image icon shown on the PC desktop.
Kindly ensure that the PC is completely shut-down before you leave the lecture theatre.
6. User Profile Creation
Please note that it is normal for the PC to take between 2 to 3 minutes to create your user profile when you logon for the very first time that semester. Subsequent logons thereafter will be much faster (typically less than 30 seconds).
As such, you are advised to visit the lecture theater once before your first live presentation every semester to familiarize yourself with the teaching console and to logon to the LT PC for the very first time.

9. Interactive Lecture Feedback System
We have installed a new software application called Interactive Lecture Feedback System (developed by Assoc Prof Yow Kin Choong/SCE) that would help facilitate question asking from students via the use of SMS. This system is recommended for a large class teaching environment. Note that there will be a delay before the message or responses are received.
Just double click on the icon “Interactive Lecture Feedback System” icon to start using the system.

Thereafter, you may invite your students to send questions via SMS by using the following convention and then send the SMS to 8455 0596: <Lecture Theatre Number><space><Question in text format>
For example, LT5 I have 1 question here Sir, may I know what the difference is between the parameters Y1 and Y2? The graphical user interface of the system is shown below.
This system has a polling feature that you may request your students to submit their answers to Multiple Choice or True/False question via SMS and the results can be shown immediately. Please refer to the diagrams below.
We have installed a new USB (version 2) 4-port hub to facilitate the transfer of presentation materials from USB thumb drives or devices to the LT PC. Please refer to the diagram below on how it looks like:
Please be informed that we will be performing system housekeeping on all LT PCs during the Jun and Dec term breaks. Please remember to archive any document that you have left on LT PC.
