All students must be cognizant of the protection granted by the law to creators of defined works to prevent their works from being copied. Such works include original works such as literary, dramatic, musical or artistic works. In addition, commercial works such as sound recordings, cinematograph films, television broadcasts, cable programs and published editions are protected likewise. This protection is legislated through the Copyright Act.
Student organizations should become familiar with the various laws of the Republic that may affect them and their activities.
