Student organisations may seek grants from SAO to organise activities and events (subject to review and approval).

Besides SAO, students can also seek grants and funding from external organisations.

Sports Partnership Promotion Programme (SPPP)

The Sports Partnership Promotion Programme (SPPP) is an initiative by the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) aimed at generating more sporting opportunities through the support and assistance of partners' and service providers' events or programmes that are open for public participation.

Organising sports groups are strongly advised to approach the NTU Sports & Recreation Centre for assistance, especially for new ad-hoc sporting events.

SDN-SDS Project Network Funding

Calling all Student Leaders.....Be the catalyst in creating a vibrant and enriching campus life!

If you desire to make your event more interesting and fun, with creative and meaningful interaction activities for your participants, Project Network (a funding scheme by SDN-SDS) which aims at developing social skills among undergraduates and providing more gender-balanced social interaction opportunities in campus, will assist you in your project.

The Fund is open to projects or programmes that:

(i)  Maximise opportunities to meet and interact for undergraduates and achieve a good gender balance (of at least 60%:40%) among participants.

OR

(ii)  Enrich, empower, and equip undergraduates with knowledge, resources and skills on social interaction and relationship-building for personal and professional development.

OR

(iii)  Creative social interaction ideas or projects that do not duplicate any existing service; projects that serve as a testing pad for innovative social interaction concepts for undergraduates.

To ensure a smooth funding application process, here are some pointers to take note of:

(1)   Make sure your target no. of participants has a balanced gender ratio of at least 60%:40%.

(2)   Include deliberate and planned interaction between both genders (at least 20% of the entire duration) through meaningful games and activities.

(3)   When planning for interaction segments, do it in good taste. If physical contact between genders during games/activities is necessary, please keep it minimal and comfortable for all participants (e.g. no piggy-backing, no raunchy actions, etc.)

(4)   The interaction segments are meant for the local undergraduates only.

To apply, you may use the templates provided below for the submission of your proposal (Annex B), and please ensure the following are included:

(1)   Explanation of the male-female interaction in the games/activities.

(2)   Detailed breakdown of budget for the whole event such as Estimated Expenses, Projected Income (e.g. Ticket sales, grants, other sponsorships, etc.).

(3)   Signed declaration form (provided below - you may scan the signed copy and email it back to us).

Important: Your proposal must be submitted two months prior to your event to allow sufficient time for fund application. Our funding is based on reimbursement which will be disbursed after the submission of a simple post-event report (template in Annex C), pictures of interaction segments and invoices/receipts of approved budget items. Tertiary Institution Health Promotion Grant (TIHPG)

The TIHPG is a co-funding scheme introduced by the Health Promotion Board (HPB).  It aims to provide financial support for tertiary institutions to plan and implement comprehensive health promotion programmes/projects for their students. 

What can the TIHPG be used to fund?

Tertiary institutions can use the TIHPG to:

a.             fund programmes/projects which seek to raise awareness of pertinent health  issues such as

    • smoking control/smoking cessation;
    • sexually transmitted infections (STIs)/AIDS prevention education;
    • mental wellness;
    • nutrition education and
    • physical activity.

These programmes (egs. talks, workshops, roadshows) aim to equip students with knowledge as well as empower them to lead healthier lifestyles.  Staff capacity building programmes on youth health issues may also be considered.

b.            fund programmes/projects that facilitate environmental changes such as set-up of fitness stations, changes to the canteen environment (egs. provision of water coolers) which promote and support healthy living.

c.             engage expert services to conduct health-related training, health needs assessments/surveys and/or

d.            fund any other relevant health-related initiative(s) aimed at improving the health of the students.

Youth Advolution for Health Project Grant 

The YAH Project Funding scheme provides up to $1,000 to groups of youths who are interested in carrying out projects that incorporate one or a combination of the 5 health topics/messages as follow:

  • Leading a smoke-free lifestyle
  • Mental wellness
  • STIs/HIV
  • Healthy eating
  • Regular physical activity
