NTU offers a wide-range of indoor and outdoor sporting facilities that cater to both recreational and competitive needs of the University community.
Only students and staff of NTU and NIE are eligible to use the facilities. Other persons may only use the facilities as guests of the staff/students who have booked the facilities. Guest fees must be paid at the Sports & Recreation Centre General Office before using the facilities.
Sports facilities that incur charges are the badminton, squash, tennis, table tennis tables and the swimming pool.
Use of Sports Facilities by Students
Students who have paid the compulsory Annual Sports Fee of $25.60 are termed as "Pre-Paid Users". They include full-time undergraduates, foreign exchange students and non-graduating students. Pre-paid users can access the Online Booking System to book the badminton, squash, tennis and table tennis facilities online without further charges. They can also use the swimming pool without further charges.
Students who are exempted from paying the compulsory Annual Sports Fee are termed as "Non Pre-Paid Users". They include postgraduates and part-time undergraduates. They are required to come down in person to the Sports and Recreation Centre General Office if they wish to book the badminton, squash, tennis and table tennis facilities. Charges are payable on a pay-as-you-use policy. They can also use the swimming pool with charges based on per entry or apply for the Pool Membership Scheme offered on per year basis.
Provisions have been incorporated into the Online Booking System to ensure those who do not pay compulsory Annual Sports Fee will have a chance to book facilities as only 80% of the facilities can be booked online. The remaining 20% have to be booked over the counter in person.
Use of Sports Facilities by Staff
Full-time staff can access the Online Booking System to book the facilities and use the swimming pool without charges. Use of facilities by staff is subsidized by the NTU Healthy Lifestyle Committee.

Loan of Locker Compartments
Locker compartments are available for free loan on a daily basis at the Sports and Recreation Centre. Please note the following guidelines regarding loan of the locker compartments:
1. Students/ staff can check the specific locations of the locker compartments and sign out the keys at the General
Office. Please bring your matric/staff card for verification purpose.
2. Keys loaned out on the day should be returned to the General Office before its closing time.
3. An administrative fee of $5.00 (inclusive of GST) will be imposed if the locker key is lost. Payment of the fee is by
cash card or Nets at the General Office during weekdays from 0830 hrs to 2030 hrs.
4. No valuables should be kept in the locker compartments.
5. The Sports and Recreation Centre shall not be held liable for any loss or damage of any nature to any of the item
kept in the compartments.
