Block Booking of Facilities (For Organized Groups Only)

Organized groups refer to registered societies, clubs, student/staff organizations.

Applications must be submitted at least three ( 3 ) days in advance to the Sports & Recreation Centre (S & R Centre).  Application forms are obtainable from the S & R Centre General Office or can be downloaded from the NTU Public Folders - Student or Staff Forms / Student Affairs.

Bookings can only be made by appointed person/s of an organised group. Students / staff organizations are not allowed to book facilities on behalf of a third party.  When the booking is made for an organization, the applicant is required to ensure his / her team-mates are also students / staff of NTU.

In cases where waiver of charges have been granted, any cancellation of bookings must be made at least three ( 3 ) days in advance or charges shall be imposed. The S & R Ctr reserves the right to refuse or cancel any bookings as it deems fit.

Online Booking of Facilities (For Individuals)

Eligibility
The Online Booking System is only available to compulsory pre-paid users.  Pre-paid users refer to the following:

    • NTU full-time undergraduates
      NTU foreign exchange students
      NTU non-graduating students
      NIE undergraduates & PGDE students
      NIE exchange & non-graduating undergraduates
    • Full-time staff members

Type of Facilities
Online booking by individuals may be made for the following facilities using the Online Booking System:
- badminton courts
- squash courts
- tennis courts
- table tennis tables

Other sports facilities which cannot be booked by individuals can, however, be used on a 'when-available' basis.

Guidelines
The bookings of facilities shall be made in accordance with such arrangements and under such conditions as the NTU Sports Advisory Council may introduce or impose from time to time. 

  • The 4 mentioned facilities above must be booked before use.

  • Bookings done on the day of play are considered 'current' bookings. Students / staff are entitled to book only one session of 'current' booking.

  • Students / staff are allowed to make only one 'advance' booking session for one facility over a period of seven ( 7 ) days.

  • Students / staff who have booked the facilities must be present to use them, failing which, they shall be barred from booking any facilities for a minimum period of one month, or such a period deemed appropriate by the NTU Sports Advisory Council. 

  • On the day of play, a grace period of 15 minutes will be given to students / staff who have booked the facilities, after which, booking fees will be forfeited and the facilities re-opened for bookings.

  • Quota
    80% of peak-hour sessions (5.15pm - 8.15 pm) are available for online booking while the remaining 20% are reserved for counter booking. When the online quota has been reached, users may book in-person at the S & R Ctr General Office Counter during weekdays between 8.30am to 7.30pm. The Booking Counter is closed on Saturday, Sunday, Public and University Holidays.


  • Counter Booking
    Users who are ineligible to make bookings via the Online Booking System must make their bookings at the General Office counter in person.  Phone bookings will not be entertained. The Booking Counter is open during weekdays between 8.30am to 7.30pm except on Public and University Holidays.

    When making bookings, students / staff are required to produce their matriculation / staff card for identification purposes.  Students / staff are advised to check their permits / receipts before leaving the booking counter. Payment made is non-refundable.

  • Cancellation
    Users must cancel their booked session/s in the event that they are not available to utilize the facility.

  • Advance Booking
    Advance booking for the eighth day becomes available online after 2359 hrs on the current day. For example, take current day as 2nd Jan, the advance booking for 10th Jan will be available online after 2359 hrs on the 2nd Jan.

  • Bad Weather
    In cases of bad weather or bookings cancelled by the S & R Ctr due to unforeseen circumstances, paid-up bookings will be credited with replacement bookings. However, bookings for replacement must be made within one week. 

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How to access?
    You can either access through Sports & Recreation Centre/Online Booking or through the Intranet; StudentLink or StaffLink.

  2. What facilities are available for online booking?
    You can make use of the system to book for badminton courts, squash courts, table tennis tables and tennis courts.

  3. Can everybody access the system?
    No. The system is only open to compulsory pre-paid users.

  4. I am not a pre-paid user. How should I go about booking the facilities mentioned in Q2?
    You would need to book the facilities in person at the Sports & Recreation Centre counter.

  5. I am not a pre-paid user. Will I get to book peak-hour sessions at all?
    Yes. This is because only 80% of peak-hour sessions (5.15 pm to 8.15 pm) are available for online booking. The remaining 20% of the sessions are reserved for counter booking.

  6. Can I cancel my booking?
    Yes. In fact, we encourage users to cancel their bookings if they cannot make it for the session. This is to free up sessions that have been booked but would be left unused if not cancelled.
