NTU Dragon Boat Team Clinched Double Victory for the Prime Minister's Cup 2009!
Congratulations to our Men's Team who retained the title with a timing of 4m 13.68s, a 2.38 seconds ahead of runners up, Singapore Management University (SMU) and to our Women's Team who demonstrated their mental strength by edging out the hot favorite, National University of Singapore (NUS) by 0.30 seconds to be crowned champions with the final time of 4m 45.42s!
Besides this, the NTU Dragon Boat teams also took home the Tertiary Men and Tertiary Mixed Champions titles. Held at a new venue, the Marina Barrage, the Singapore Dragon Boat Festival (27 - 28 June 2009) proved to be a real exciting treat for our supporters too who never fail to show their support for our teams with their roars of enthusiastic cheers every single year. Bravo to the rowers and supporters for keeping the NTU Spirit flying high.
NTU ACES Team White - Champion of Open Division Category
Cheerleading teams from Singapore’s many institutions and open clubs took part in the multitude of events held at the National Cheerleading Competition (Cheerobics) on 22 March 2009. It was inclusive of the Primary Division, Secondary Division, Senior High Division (JCs and Polytechnics) and Open Division Team Categories. In addition to the Team Categories, there were Partner Stunts and Group Stunts divisions, which showcased a smaller group of people competing. In all, a total of 300+ participants from 44 teams took part.
Team ACES Cheerleading from NTU sent 2 teams to compete at Cheerobics 2009, Team White and Team Red, based on the color of the uniforms. NTU ACES Team White successfully defended the title of Champion of Open Division Team Category for the 4th time, with their spectacular and mind-blowing routine.
