NTU International Chess Team is the competitive arm of the Chess Club (NTU Chess Club). It was founded in the year 1991. The club has since been the forerunner in nourishing and enriching the university's talents in chess. "Training sessions" are conducted on a weekly basis for players of various strengths, while "Teaching Clinics" for starters are conducted once every academic year.
Team Selection
The club welcomes all chess enthusiasts, including all NTU and NIE students and staff. Good players are identified from the regular training sessions, and invited to represent NTU for competitions. Performance in the annual NTU Open Chess Championship in September will also be an important factor.
Training Schedule
Every Friday, 7pm – 9pm, SRC Activity Room 3. Additional training may be held in preparation for upcoming chess tournaments.
