Name of the competition: University of Toronto Global Learning Case Competition (GLCC) 2024

About the competition: The University of Toronto hosted the 4th Annual Global Learning Case Competition. This year, the students were tasked to curate innovative and sustainable global solutions to new challenges presented by Artificial Intelligence (AI). They presented their innovative solutions to local judges and experts in the AI industry through a 5-minute video presentation and the event concluded with the announcement of the winners of the competition.

Product/Proposal: The team’s innovative solution, StudyPilot, provides structured and personalised learning through tailoring educational content to youths’ learning style, proficiency level, and preferred language. In addition, StudyPilot offers a range of accessibility features that target marginalised groups such as low-income and disabled youths.

Description: StudyPilot is an AI-powered platform that creates a customised curriculum tailored to the unique learning needs of youths, helping them navigate the confusing landscape of educational resources that are available online. It leverages the Natural Language Processing (NLP) ability of Large Language Models (LLM) to understand the learning needs of youth, before filtering for the relevant educational resources.
