Champion (Singapore Finals) in EY Corporate Finance Woman Of the Year Case Competition 2019

About the competition: Held in its third year, the competition recognizes talented young women with the potential and calibre to excel in corporate finance. The competition strives to nurture the next generation of female talents to make an impact in the world of corporate finance.

Description: The finalists had first-hand exposure to the day-to-day work of professionals in the field, where they also connected with EY corporate finance professionals across the ranks. The finalists also got their hands dirty through a case study mimicking a real-life scenario. In teams of 4, the finalists were tasked to evaluate various business strategies for a homegrown F&B brand facing various headwinds and make their case to management on the best steps forward.

Jie Hui’s team managed to impress the judges with their comprehensive and robust analysis, and was awarded the best team presentation. Despite being one of the only two second-year students among the finalists, Jie Hui was able to deliver a well-rounded presentation that showcased application of her critical thinking and analytical skills, and emerged as overall champion.
