2nd Runner-up in APECS Venture Capital Case Competition 2019

About the competition: APECS Venture Capital Case Competition (VCCC) is a first of a kind initiative which strives to spark students’ interest in the VC investment process. It is the first venture capital-focused case competition in SEA. It provides a platform for students to evaluate and analyse potential start-ups in the VC scene in SEA, and interact with top academic and industry talents.

Description: Participants had the opportunity to put themselves in the shoes of venture capitalists, and were tasked to evaluate potential start-ups and generate investment recommendations. 

Beyond simply answering the question of “Should we invest?”, the team recommended strategies crucial for the start-up to scale. The team impressed the judging panel made up of venture capitalists with their robust analysis and ability to discern the over-valuation of the potential start-up. As testament to their ability, the team emerged second runner-up out of over 50 teams.
