An existing student is allowed to change programme within NTU, subject to the approval of the School(s) of both the current and new programme. The student may apply for change of programme during the following 2 application periods:

Note: Freshmen (who have studied in the University for less than one semester) who wish to change programme must make their request to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA) via email at adm_local@ntu.edu.sg or adm_intnl@ntu.edu.sg.

Important Information |

a) Students on Scholarship
Students who are receiving scholarships are to check with the Scholarship Section of OAFA via email at ug_scholarships@ntu.edu.sg on how the change of programme is going to affect their scholarship status, before applying for change of programme.

b) Students on Part-Time Programme
Existing part-time students must complete at least 4 semesters of study before they are eligible to apply for change to full-time programme.

c) Students applying to transfer to Art, Design and Media (ADM) Programme
The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) considers students for change of programme only once a year , together with all new applicants to the School.
All applicants for change of programme to ADM have to submit portfolio, write-up and assignment. Please click here for the application procedures and requirements. Applicants are also to note that students will be admitted to Year One unless they receive exemption from all Year One courses.

d) Tuition Grant and Tuition Fee
Students whose change of programme takes effect from S2 AY 2008-09 onwards will come under the revised eligibility policy which takes into account the MOE Tuition Grant that students had received in their previous programmes.

e) Transfer of Credits
- For change of programme involving programmes with common Year 1 courses, all common Year 1 courses taken previously (passed or failed) will automatically be transferred to the new programme once approval for the change of programme is given.
- For other programmes, a student who wishes to match his courses read to equivalent courses in the new programme must submit an application to the School of the new programme for transer of credits by the 3rd week of the first semester in the new programme. Late requests for transfer of credits will not be considered. The School shall decide which courses (and the respective course type) may be used to satisfy the relevant graduation requirements.
Note: For transfer of course credits within the University, both the academic units and grades (including P, F, S or U grade) of these courses will be counted towards the fulfillment of the degree requirements and used in the computation of the GPA.

f) Repetition of Courses
Students who have changed programme are not allowed to repeat a course which they have passed in the previous programme.
g) Outcome of Application
You will be informed of the outcome of your application through your NTU email account.

h) Application Fee
An application fee of $10.70 (inclusive of GST) must accompany your application. Payment can be made through WorldPay, cash or cheque. For cash or cheque, please make your payment at the Office of Finance:
