Mdm Tan Soh Wah

For her dedicated service and contributions to The Association of Nanyang University Graduates (ANUG), Nanyang Technological University is proud to present Mdm Tan Soh Wah with the Nanyang Alumni Service Award.
For more than a decade and counting, Mdm Tan has been instrumental in keeping the Nantah flame burning bright via her devoted service to the ANUG, which was formed in 1964 to foster better relationships and understanding among Nanyang University alumni.
Mdm Tan has been ANUG‘s Committee Member since 1995, and is currently the Deputy Head of ANUG’s Welfare Unit. She has supported numerous activities organised by the Association, which is one of the more active alumni associations today. She has also served as a Class Agent in 2007 for her cohort’s class reunion organising committee and as an emcee at last year’s gala dinner – attended by over 1,000 alumni and guests – at the Raffles City Convention Centre to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of Nanyang University.
Mdm Tan was the host of educational television programmes produced by the Ministry of Education, and was also a part-time programme host and presenter for the former Singapore Broadcasting Corporation. Mdm Tan devoted herself to Singapore’s Chinese education and received the Long Service Award from the Ministry of Education in 2001. She continues to be actively involved in the local Chinese community. She helps to judge many Chinese debate competitions like the 2016 Global Village Children & Youths Bilingual Speech Competition. Mdm Tan is currently the President of the Singapore I-Lien Drama Society which has 60 years of history, and the Director of Link Culture International Pte Ltd.
