RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Research Assistant, Industrial Ergonomics and Biomechanics Lab, Virginia Tech                                                                                08/2005-05/2008

1.  Applied control theory and optimization approaches to simulate task-based human motions and postures

2. Performed experiments to identify effects of external loads on balance control

3. Developed balance control models to investigate postural control mechanisms when maintaining upright balance, and how balance mechanisms are influenced by aging and muscle fatigue

Research Assistant, Key Laboratory for Advanced Simulation Technology, BUAA                                                                              09/2001-03/2004

1. Developed physical behavior models, decision making models, and a heuristic search algorithm to realize the path planning and path following for computer generated forces systems

2. Developed local area network communications and a network interface unit for a distributed simulation system

Research Assistant, Beijing Institute of Automation Control                                                                                                     03/2001-07/2001

1. Involved in the development of an aerospace robot arm control system

Research Assistant, Key Laboratory for Advanced Simulation Technology, BUAA                                                                              03/2000-01/2001

1. Developed 3-D virtual environments for a virtual tour simulation system
