NTU started to offer short-term training programmes in Chinese utilizing her outstanding lecturers and advanced facilities. These programmes are specially designed to offer training in highly specialized areas in the field of economics and public administration. So far more than 10,000 individuals attended these programmes including middle or high rank China government officials from Shanghai, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jilin, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Hebei and other provinces, as well as professionals from enterprises and government agencies such as National Planning & Development Committee, Ministry of Aviation , Bank of China, China Telecom and so on. These training programmes aim to teach the contemporary public and economics theories, share the experiences and lessons of international public administration with an East Asia perspective, and visit various Singapore government agencies and enterprise entities.

Through the training, the students can expand their international scope, renew their concepts, and learn to enhance global and strategic thinking, develop their management skills, strengthen their own accomplishment, improve their public service quality, and develop capabilities amongst the competitive global market environments. Some cities and provinces in China regularly send government officials to NTU for training every year.

With seventeen years’ accumulation and innovation, the NTU short-term training programmes are well received and regarded by various fields for its courses offered and eminent teaching quality. We have strong lecturers’ pool, excellent management team, first-class training facilities and customized training programmes. During training we organize site visits and dialogue sessions, visit well-known government agencies and MNCs in Singapore, provide enriched extra-curricular activities and include our trainee into our extensive alumni network when the training programmes are completed.
