Objective/workplans for the Economic Growth Centre (EGC)

The objective of the EGC is to conduct research on global economic development and underdevelopment with special reference to East Asia countries.

The work plan of the EGC for the next two years is to research and publish papers on global poverty and affluence with special case studies on the PRC, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore and other selected ASEAN countries.

Activities such as:

• Research seminar series
• Working paper series
• Research Monograph series
• Joint research workshops/seminars
• Research collaborations with universities overseas

have also been planned.
