Singapore Economic Review Conference 2009
Following the success of the Singapore Economic Review Conferences in 2005 and 2007 (close to 350 economists from 40 countries attended), we are pleased to organize the third conference from August 6-8, 2009 in Singapore.
The Singapore Economic Review (SER) has been a leading journal in economics in Asia since it was founded in 1956. The SER is a general economics journal devoted to publishing papers of high academic standard. It covers a wide range of economic issues, especially those impinging on Southeast Asia and the broader Asia-Pacific region. SER is also indexed in major economics indices such as the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI); Google Scholar; EconLit; and RePec.

5th Singapore Economic Review Public Lecture
- “The Challenge of Corruption” By Dr Robert Klitgaard
The Public Lecture was held on 27 March 2008 at NTU@One-North campus. This Talk focus on how to reduce corruption which distorts growth, undermines justice and harms the poor.
Dr Robert Klitgaard is the President of the Claremont Graduate University known as ‘The World’s expert on Corruption’. The ‘expert’ advised many governments on economic strategy and institutional reform. His work and research have taken him to more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. In recent years, he has served on the faculty of the World Economic Forum, the editorial boards of the Journal of Economic Litarature and Theoria, and the Board of the International Development Evaluation Association.
