LHZB (11 Oct 09, Pg 15) carried an article by Asst Prof Stephen Chou Shang-Tseh from NTU’s Division of Chinese, on China’s grand military parade at Tian'anmen Square on 1 Oct 09. Asst Prof Chou drew attention to Singapore PR Zhang Yuanyuan, who was in the spotlight recently for proclaiming her loyalty to China on China's national television. He observed that both mainland Chinese and Singapore sides have their own views about Zhang’s actions.

LHZB(4 Oct 09, Pg 13) carried an article by Associate Professor I Lo-fen from Division of Chinese, on the protrait of Sin Saimdang, printed on a newly circulated 50000 won banknote in North Korea. The article mentioned the disbutes and questions that arise when the notes were first released.
