University Rankings and Ratings 

     

 

·         In the well-known QS World University Rankings 2011 published in September 2011, NTU has made a quantum leap up 16 places to 58th overall position with employer reputation ranking up by 31 places to 51st position and academic reputation ranking up by 12 places to 64th position in the world.  For subject ranking, our Engineering & Technology has moved up by 10 places to 26th position and Social Sciences by 8 places to 52nd position in the world.  

·         In the QS Stars rating system, NTU has been awarded the highest rating of five Stars in 2011 for excellence across all the eight key areas, the first Asian institution to get this recognition.  It scored the maximum of five Stars each for all the key areas, namely, research quality, graduate employability, teaching quality, infrastructure, internationalisation, innovation and knowledge transfer, third mission (community engagement) and specialist strength for Engineering & Technology. 

·         In the Brigham Young University (BYU) Accounting Research Rankings 2010, NTU is ranked globally at 6th position and is 1st  in Asia in the most recent 6-year period.

·         In the QS Asian University Ranking 2011, NTU maintained within the top 20 overall at 17th position up by one position and within the top 10 for Engineering  & IT subject ranking, Social Sciences at 13th position and Arts & Humanities at 16th position. 

·         In the inaugural 2011 QS World University Rankings by Engineering subjects, namely, Civil & Structural, Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing, Electrical & Electronic, Chemical, and Computer Science & Information Systems, NTU has achieved rankings ranging from 18th to 51st  in the world and from 3rd to 9th in Asia.  As for other specific subjects, namely, Statistics & Operational Research, Accounting & Finance, Economics & Econometrics, Politics & International Studies, English Languages & Literature, Linguistics, Metallurgy & Materials, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Psychology, NTU rankings ranged from 5th to 13th in Asia.

·         Highly reputed as a leading research and graduate teaching institution in strategic and international affairs in the Asia-Pacific region, the S. Rajaratnam School of International  Studies (RSIS) is the top Asian university and ranked 13th globally in the Best University-affiliated Think Tank 2010.

·         In January 2011, NTU was ranked the seventh Most-Cited Institution in Engineering by Essential Science Indicators of Thomson Reuters, placing NTU at the top 1% ranked by total citation count in this field.

·         In the Financial Times Global MBA Rankings 2011, NTU is ranked globally at 33rd position and is 6th in the Asia region.

·         In the Economist  Intelligence Unit Full-time MBA Rankings 2010, NTU climbed up 2 places to 69th position and is ranked 6th in Asia-Pacific.
